About Sydney Holistic Dental Centre
At Sydney Holistic Dental Centre, dentistry begins with a simple premise: the mouth is part of the body. Since 1983, we have brought together the clinical dentistry patients need with attention to breathing, sleep, jaw function, materials and the everyday habits that shape oral health.
The SHDC Difference
Our team is four dentists and five oral health therapists who share one approach: treat the whole person, use biocompatible materials and pay attention to breathing, sleep and jaw function alongside the teeth.
Between them they bring decades of experience across restorative and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, implants, orthodontics, TMJ and sleep, periodontal care and children’s dentistry, all under one roof at 111 Elizabeth Street.

Whole-Person Dentistry
Holistic dentistry at SHDC is conventional, university-trained dentistry with a wider scope. We use the same diagnostic standards, the same registration requirements and the same commitment to evidence as any quality practice.
The difference is that we also assess how your mouth affects your breathing, sleep and general health, and we are careful about the materials we use. Where your health needs sit outside our scope, we refer and work alongside sleep physicians, ENT specialists, myofunctional therapists, GPs and nutritionists.
How We Work
01
Every comprehensive new patient consultation includes an assessment of your breathing, sleep quality, jaw joints, and head and neck muscles, as well as your teeth and gums.
02
We choose restorative materials for how well they work with your body over the long term: BPA-free composite resins, ceramic restorations and metal-free options.
03
On contested questions, we present the mainstream professional position and the precautionary position side by side, with sources, and support the decision you make with your dentist and, where relevant, your medical practitioner.
04
Long-term oral health is built on how you sleep, breathe, eat, move and manage stress. Our Five Pillars of Health model shapes the advice we give every patient.

The best dentistry is the dentistry you never need. Our hygiene program, airway assessments for children, dietary guidance and early intervention orthodontics all exist to make future treatment unnecessary.
New patients see a dentist first for a comprehensive consultation, then move to a hygiene and treatment plan shared between dentist and oral health therapist. Complex cases draw on the team’s combined training.
